Football: a mind game
It’s a mind game, really. I was head over heels having scored the second goal to extend our lead to 2 goals up. Game started again from kick-off, and seconds afterwards, because of the goalie’s blunder, we conceded a goal. 2-1.
This is where it kicked in. When our 2 goals lead was thrown away that cheaply, instead of hitting and burning the opponent’s mentality, it lifted theirs up, wrecking ours from the inside out like a bunch of steel claws.
Not to mention the equaliser. Yes, we conceded a second goal just minutes before the game ended.
It wasn’t fun, really, o my brothers. It was painful. For me it ruined the weekend. I know what goes up must comes down, but.. that fast? I didn’t even have time to let the joy of scoring a goal sink in. Soon that goal became quite a nightmare.
Not that I’m not thankful. I’m glad that I scored that goal. It was a beautiful goal. Shame it was a team game.. and I can’t win it on my oddy knocky.
Funny, o my brothers, how a goal can be such a pain..
